Trump protester lights himself on fire outside of Trump Hotel

A man stood outside of the Trump International Hotel, in Washington, D.C. and set himself on fire on Tuesday. His reason? Trump’s “lack of respect” or what he perceives as such.

News4 reports that the man, 45, name unknown, told a reporter at the scene that he doused himself in accelerate and used a lighter to set himself afire to “protest the fact that we elected somebody who is completely incapable of respecting the Constitution of the United States.”

Police arrived to the scene, at Old Post Office Building on Pennsylvania Avenue, at around 9:30 p.m. The man was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was treated for third-degree burns across 10% of his body, according to the New York Post.

The Trump International Hotel, just minutes the White House, is part of the Presidential Inauguration Parade, scheduled to take place on Friday. The starting time has yet to be announced, but demonstrators and protesters are expected to show up.
