Attempted Texas kidnapping; cellphone scares would-be abductor away

Police need your help in locating the man who tried to kidnap a boy on his way to school

North Richland Hills, Texas, police are looking for a man who tried to an abduct a boy on his way to school on Thursday morning.

NBC DFW reports that the boy, 13, was riding his bike to school near Little Ranch Road in the North Richland Hills area, when a man driving a grey, 4-door Nissan Titan truck pulled up next to him and asked him if he needed a ride to school. When the boy told him, “no,” the man got out of his truck and started walking towards him. The child quickly pulled out his cellphone and tried to take pictures of the man. Apparently spooked, the man got back into his truck and drove away.

The driver is described as a white male with red hair and a red goatee. He has three round and visible marks on his left cheek. Unfortunately, the boy wasn’t able to get photos in time, but he did get a clear look at the suspect’s face.
