Valentine’s Day murder: 92-year-old arrested for shooting wife

A 92-year-old man was arrested Los Angeles on Valentine’s Day after allegedly shooting his wife.

The Los Angeles Times reports that an argument escalated between the elderly man and his wife, 20 years his junior, at around 7 p.m. It’s still unclear what the argument was about, but police responded to the home at 1717 West 60th St. in South Los Angeles, and found the victim, 72, dead inside the home.

According to Officer Mike Lopez with the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspect was taken into custody and the gun was recovered. The suspect and victim were the only ones at the home when the shooting occurred. Their identities haven’t been released, and it’s unclear how long they were married.
