Amber Finney

Ohio woman arrested for having sex with a dog

An Ohio woman accused of performing sex acts on a dog pleaded not guilty to the charges on Monday.

Amber Finney was arrested Sunday night in Warren, Ohio, and charged with engaging in sexual conduct with animals. She is being held in Trumbull County jail, WKBN reports.

Walgreens employees reportedly called authorities when they recognized the woman who was on TV for “getting into trouble with animals.”

According to the police report, Finney was found in her basement crying after she ran inside her home.

The warrant for her arrest was reportedly issued in January after a video of her performing sex acts on a dog surfaced on social media. Finney originally told police that it was a fake, but police say it appears to be real. She also told police that she was drugged when the video was made. She said that someone put something in her drink, and she couldn’t remember what happened.

Warren is the first city in Ohio to make bestiality illegal. The law was passed 10-0 last summer. Animal advocate Jason Cooke told WKBN that the law makes it easier to charge someone.

“With this ordinance, that takes a little bit of onus away from them because we can go off of witness testimony, which is a huge help. I want this to serve as a deterrent and I want this to serve as a notice that if you’re going to commit these types of acts, you’re going to be held accountable and you’re going to be punished to the full extent of the law.”

The crime is considered a misdemeanor under the new law, but can result in having the animals removed until the conclusion of the investigation or trial.

The law comes after Salvador Rendon was arrested for having sex with two dogs over a span of six years. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail. Sixty of those were suspended.
