Police: Russian woman found murdered in Oregon woods was part of a love triangle

Russian émigré Anna Alekseyevna Repkina had lived in the United States less than seven weeks before she was shot and killed in the woods 110 miles south of Portland, Oregon. Authorities say she was having an affair with the man who shot her in the head, execution-style.

William Chase Hargrove, 27, was reportedly in a long-term relationship with another woman, while also romantically involved with the 27-year-old Russian, Repkina. Allegedly, the other woman told Hargove to choose between the two women, giving him an “it’s her or me” ultimatum.

According to Portland news station KGW, Hargrove took Repkina out on a desolate logging road and shot her in the back of the head.

Her body was discovered on April 17 when officers responded to a suspicious death call.

The other woman in the case has not been identified and it is unclear if she will face charges in the case.

According to the Benton County Sheriff website, Repkina was born on September 24, 1989 in Russia and has no known relatives in the US. Her family has been notified of her death with the assistance of Russian authorities.
