Aaron Hernandez fiancee thought suicide was a hoax: Shayanna Jenkins breaks silence

“I thought someone was playing a trick on me,” she said.

Aaron Hernandez’s fiancee will appear on an upcoming episode of the Dr. Phil show to set the record straight on the many rumors swirling around the ex-NFL star’s prison suicide.

Shayanna Jenkins, who spoke to Hernandez just hours before he took his own life on April 19, reportedly told Dr. Phil that she didn’t believe it when she was told her fiancee was dead.

“I thought it was a hoax, that this was some cruel person playing a trick on me,” Jenkins told Dr. Phil. “I felt like we were looking so bright. We were going up a ladder to a positive direction.”

The mother of Hernandez’s four-year-old daughter said there was no indication Hernandez was planning on killing himself during their last conversation.

“Our last talk had nothing to do with suicidal thoughts,” she said in the episode recording.

In the two-part appearance on the Dr. Phil show, Jenkins is expected to address the speculation about Hernandez’s motive for suicide, specifically the implication that he killed himself in order to clear his criminal record and make sure his family was taken care of financially.

Last week, Crime Online obtained a copy of the suicide note Hernandez left his fiancee. In it, he wrote in capital letter, “YOU’RE RICH.”

In a press release announcing the upcoming appearance, Dr. Phil is quoted asking Jenkins about the money she may inherit because of the suicide.

“Did he kill himself so that you could collect $6.5 million?” the host asks.

The two-part episode series will air on May 15 and 16th.
