One person is dead and nearly two dozen more injured after a man drove his car onto a sidewalk of a busy Times Square intersection during the Thursday lunch hour.
According to CNN, the driver is in custody.
A tweet from the NYC Scanner account identified the man as Richard Rojas, 26, of the Bronx.

The incident does not appear to be terror-related. According to the Daily News, Rojas has multiple DUI arrests, and police believe he was drinking at the time of the crash.

Witnesses told the newspaper that the suspect appeared to be targeting pedestrians as he drove over the curb near West 43rd Street.
The person killed in the crash has not yet been identified.
