Victim of Portland train stabbing identified; young man was a recent college graduate

A mother in Ashland, Oregon, has announced on Facebook that her son was one of the two men killed in a fatal, hate-filled stabbing incident on a public train in Portland Friday.

A woman by the name of Asha Deliverance posted on Facebook Saturday, writing that her youngest son was one of the victims of Jeremy Christian, a known white supremacist who went on a racist rant on the MAX train on Friday, before stabbing three people.

His mother says that Taliesin Myrddin Namkai Meche, who also appears to have gone by the name Taliesin Myrddin, is one of the men who was stabbed to death when they defended the women Christian was shouting at and tried to calm the suspect down.

The brave victim appears to have been a 2016 graduate of Reed College. A woman believed to be his girlfriend also posted a message on Facebook honoring him.

As Crime Online previously reported, Jeremy Christian was arrested on Friday and charged with aggravated murder, attempted murder, and being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
