Oklahoma teen stops sexual assault with groin punch

Police said an Oklahoma City teen stopped a 20-year-old man who was sexually assaulting her by punching him in the genitals.

The 16-year-old’s parents reported the supposed sexual assault on Monday. They told officers that the incident occurred while their daughter was at a friend’s home.

Several men allegedly came to the friend’s home to drink and party on the night in question. The friend and the victim, who called her mother at the time, were said to have gone to another room to sleep.

The next morning, the friend woke up and told the 16-year-old that she was going to the store. Though the victim said nobody was home and that her friend locked the door behind her, she claimed she woke up to Jose Garcia-Rivera, 20, on top of her with his pants and underwear around his ankles.

KOCO reported that Garcia-Rivera is accused of pulling down her clothes and telling her to be quiet as he sexually assaulted her.

As he touched her, the teen claimed she punched the 20-year-old in the testicles “like her brothers showed her how to do.”

“At that time, [Garcia-Rivera] rolled off the bed and laid on the floor holding himself,” according to an arrest affidavit obtained by KFOR.

The girl fled from the home and called her friend to pick her up. She got home and her mother called the police.

Garcia-Rivera, who is identified as Andres Rivera in some reports, was arrested and charged with rape by instrumentation.
