Mother of knifepoint gang rape suspect, accused of kidnapping 14-year-old girl, tried to help him cover it up: Police

The alleged victim was held at a recording studio for six days where she was repeatedly raped

The mother of a man arrested for his alleged involvement in the gang rape of a 14-year-old girl gave her son advice on how to get away with the heinous crime, reportsĀ WTIC.

Miguel “Wookie” Pagan, 20, was arrested in connection with the gang rape of a teen involving seven of his friends. Pagan, pictured above, reportedly admitted to having sex with the girl after he picked her up on the West Side of New Britain, Connecticut on April 7, police say.

According to an arrest warrant obtained by WTIC, the teen told authorities that Wookie and his friends kept her for six days at a recording studio where they raped her multiple times. She was reported missing by her foster mother on April 7 after she left home and did not return. The girl said she tried to escape through a window several times but was unable to. The men held a knife to the victim’s throat and cut her stomach and her neck. She said Pagan held a gun to her and rubbed a powder over her mouth that she was forced to wash down with alcohol. Police later identified the powder as the synthetic drug known as “Molly.”

After a family friend contacted Pagan, he dropped the girl off with a friend in a McDonald’s parking lot. The friend drove the teen to a Price Right where she met with police.

Police obtained a search warrant for Pagan’s phone, in which they found pictures of the recording studio and the teen. Facebook messages from a woman they believe to be Pagan’s mother revealed that she tried to aid Pagan in evading criminal charges. She reportedly told him that she heard what he was doing and that he needed to end it before he was charged with rape. She also gave him advice on how to avoid leaving physical evidence of the alleged sexual assaults, according to WTIC.

“Use condoms. No evidence.”

The investigation is ongoing, and police are still trying to identify the other men involved in the gang rape.
