Police officer stabbed in neck at Michigan airport in possible terror attack

Police are questioning a suspect accused of stabbing a police officer in the next at an airport in Flint, Michigan, on Wednesday.

According to CNN, Lt. Jeff Neville, a member of the airport’s police force, is in critical but stable condition after the suspect allegedly attacked him, stabbing him in the neck and bay in the main terminal of the Bishop International Airport. The attack too place in the public area of the airport, meaning the suspect had not passed through security.

The FBI is reportedly investigating the attack to determine if it is related to terrorism. CNN has reported that the suspect appeared to have been targeting the police officer. Witnesses also reportedly said they heard the suspect say something in Arabic before he stabbed the officer, but it is not known what he said.

The suspect has not yet been identified, and authorities have said travel safety is not impacted by the incident.
