Police: Father executes his own sting operation to take down man ‘sexting’ his daughter

Surveillance video shows the moment an Oklahoma father takes down a 33-year-old man that was planning to meet his 15-year-old daughter for sex.

The father was using the Family Time app to monitor his daughter’s communications when he discovered that the teen was chatting with a 33-year-old man, identified as Jeremy Gibson. When he saw that the messages were sexually explicit and that the two were planning to meet for the first time, he immediately went to police, wanting to put an end to the relationship before it turned physical.

He told KOCO that he posed as his daughter to plan a sexual encounter between her and the man. They planned to meet in a tent in the family’s backyard.

The video shows the family waiting for the man waiting by a back door while the teen’s stepmother waited for the man in the tent. When he opened the tent and looked inside, he was ambushed by members of the family.

“As he walked in and looked into the tent, my first nephew jumped out, my cousin jumped out after that and I came with the zip ties. He admitted immediately that he was there to have sex with my daughter.”

“The moment he entered my yard, that point in time, I had to do what was right as a father.”

Major Jody Suit with the Del City Police Department said that the family planned and executed the entire sting operation on their own, reports KSWO.

“The family took it upon themselves to pretend to be her and invite the suspect to the house to meet her in the backyard in a tent for the purpose of having – to have sex‚Ķ Just before he enters the tent, the father and three family members… tackle him and zip tie his hands and feet, and hold him until the police get there.”
