Police: Child rape suspect attacks little girl, 8, in her sleep, violently assaults her

Police have arrested an Ohio man on the charge of sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl, according to The Blade.

Jesse Glaze, 38, allegedly snuck into the room as the 8-year-old victim lay asleep on the couch. That is when he struck, as reported by NBC24. Police say the assault occurred on July 1.

The unnamed victim also spoke to investigators. The brave 8-year-old told police that he had penetrated her with his fingers while she slept, according to WTOL.

The victim was examined by a nurse at Toledo Hospital. This nurse told police there were definitely signs of sexual assault and corroborated the victims version of the story, in which fingers were used to commit the brutal rape.

That’s not all police found when they arrived to assess the situation. The 38-year-old was allegedly in possession of K2, a dangerous form of synthetic marijuana.

Glaze has been charged with rape with the stipulation that the victim was less than 13-years-old, a first-degree felony, and possession of controlled substances, a fifth-degree felony.

The suspected child rapist was arraigned in Toledo Municipal Court Monday, where Judge William Connelly, Jr., set bond at $100,000. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victim.

He is being held in the Lucas County jail and will again appear in court on Monday to face his charges. There has been no indication as to whether or not Glaze has hired a lawyer. Authorities have also not released any information as to the suspect’s relationship with the victim.
