‘It’s horrible’: Parents allegedly kill 3-year-old daughter, neighbors report ‘screams’

Utah police have arrested a married couple and charged them with murdering their own innocent 3-year-old daughter, according to KSTU.

Miller Costello, 25, and Brenda Emile, 22, each face a charge of child abuse homicide after their daughter, Angelina Costello, was found dead on Thursday.

There was also evidence of abusive trauma, according to a news release from the Ogden Police Department.

Neighbors have told reporters that the family was new in town, moving into their home as recently as a few days ago. Thus, nobody in the neighborhood knew them very well.

Katrina Duncombe is one such neighbor and she spoke to FOX13 about the frightening aspect of living near such a murderous couple.

“It’s horrible knowing that,” she said of the child’s death. “What could be going through a parent’s mind to harm a 3-year-old in any direction? What could they be doing that’s so bad that they would do that?”

That same neighbor also told reporters that she heard screams on the day when the 3-year-old is reported to have died.

Even more frightening is the fact that Costello and Emile have two other children, one older than the victim and one younger. Both children remain unharmed, but the Ogden Police Department and the Division of Child and Family Services has since removed them from the home.

This is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with information that may aid Ogden Police in their search for justice is urged to call Detective Lewis at 801-629-8438 or email detectives@ogdencity.com.
