A video from Vancouver, Washington captures the moment two “loss prevention” workers tackle a 14-year-old girl to the ground and put her in a headlock for stealing candy, reports Carbonated.TV.
The men can be seen each grabbing and arm as they drag her across the pavement back to the store. A group of people witnessing the two men roughly handle the crying teen can be heard shouting at them to stop hurting her. Onlookers demand the men to let go of the girl while she begs them to “Please stop,” and one of the two replies, “Back off.”
At one point, the woman filming the scene asks the girl what she stole. She said through tears, “Candy.”

The teen was taken to the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center where she was charged with second-degree robbery, a felony.
KATU interviewed the mother who said her 14-year-old daughter would have been charged with a misdemeanor, but the charge was bumped up to a felony because of the way she handled the situation, reports Rare.com.
The mother also said that her daughter’s knees were “all tore up” from the treatment she received at the hands of the two grown men.
While she agrees that the teen should be held accountable for her actions, she says that “Kids make mistakes. I did,” and the teen’s life shouldn’t be ruined over a candy bar.
The company, WinCo, released a statement regarding the incident.
“While in our store, the individual concealed items and left the store without paying. The individual was then approached by WinCo Foods’ loss prevention employees, who identified themselves as such. As our employees questioned the individual, she attempted to flee and was detained by WinCo’s loss prevention. At this point, the individual initiated contact by physically attacking multiple employees. All of this occurred immediately before the footage started in the video posted on social media.”
