NOT LOVIN IT! ‘I ain’t serving no police’: McDonald’s employee refuses to serve uniformed police

An employee at a Henrico County, Virginia, reportedly refused to give an officer his meal, according to the Washington Post.

The wife (pictured) of state game and inland fisheries officer, Scott Naff (pictured), posted on Facebook page about the incident, which quickly went viral. Naff, in uniform, paid for his meal when the McDonald’s employee refused to give him his order, saying he refused to serve police.

My husband just got home from working a 13 hour day to share a story with me that has left me completely shocked. …

The 25-year law enforcement veteran didn’t comment himself on the incident, but another employee brought his order to him several minutes later.

According to Cathy Naff’s post, her husband finished a 13-hour work shift when he pulled up to the drive-thru to order a meal, at around 7:00 p.m. When he arrived to the second window to pick up his food, the young man working backed away from the window and said something out of Naff’s earshot.

Eventually the man walked back to the window, slid it open and told Naff he wouldn’t serve him. He then proceeded to tell everyone in the restaurant – including the manager – that he refused to serve “the police.”

“I ain’t serving no police.”

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that the franchise owner, Freda Thornton, released a statement on Tuesday about the incident.

“We regret this situation as it goes against our standards of providing a welcoming experience to everyone, and we have taken the appropriate action to resolve this situation.”

Thornton said her restaurants are dedicated to serving all customers, including authorities who protect wildlife and natural resources. What specific actions were taken is unclear.

Cathy Naff said the post was originally meant to just be shared among friends and she had no idea it would receive so much attention. As of Thursday, her post had been shared nearly 4,000 times and had received over 2,400 comments.

“My husband is one of the great guys and would have never treated this young man disrespectfully.”
