North Carolina teenagers arrested and charged with MURDERING a 2-month-old baby

Police have arrested two North Carolina teenagers and charged them with murder, following the July 2016 death of a 2-month-old infant, according to WCNC.

Amber Lane Scarborough, 17, and her ex-boyfriend Houston Ray McCarn, 19, have been charged with first degree murder and felony child abuse causing serious bodily harm to the child. Scarborough was the infant’s mother and she made the 911 call to report that her infant, Kingston Aistrop, was not breathing.

Upon arrival, investigators determined that the baby had suffered recent trauma. The child’s body was sent to the North Carolina Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy and it was revealed that Aistrop died from blunt force trauma to the head. Authorities conducted a thorough investigation, lasting over a year, and arrest warrants were issued for the teens, as reported by Independent Tribune.

17-year-old Scarborough was arrested on Friday, but McCarn managed to evade capture. Police found him at a Howard Johnson Motel in Concord over the weekend and placed him into custody.

Authorities also note that the couple broke up shortly after the infant’s death, according to Salisbury Post.

McCarn is actually on probation, as reported by The Charlotte Observer. He has multiple convictions for drug related offenses, including maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance, and a pending charge for marijuana possession. Records show he was also convicted back in October for resisting an officer.

At the moment, there are no records indicating if McCarn was the infant’s father. He has been placed in the Rowan County Detention Center and refused bond, according to the sheriff’s office.
