The FBI and Aberdeen police have had an open investigation ever since, with no arrest made despite spending up to 1,000 hours on the case, according to WJZ.

The Baltimore Sun reports video surveillance shows her abductor shopping during the time he had Ripkin captive. She told authorities that he blindfolded her, but gave her food and lit cigarettes for her during the time he held her.

The suspect was in his mid-30s to mid-40s, about 180 pounds and approximately 5’ 10” with short brown hair and glasses. The new sketch shows an age progression of the suspect.

“We have a suspect, we want this person caught,” Aberdeen Police Lt. William Reiber told WJZ. “And quite frankly, this was a case where you had an elderly woman — regardless of what her last name was — that a person went into her garage, abducted her, held her for 23 hours. This is a person who needs to face justice for their actions.”

Cal Ripkin Jr. told WJZ in 2015, “Mom is forever affected. There’s no doubt about it. And we’re forever affected as a result of that. And it’s a little unsettling. He’s still out there.”

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact police at 410-272-2121.
