WATCH: Hit-and-run suspect climbs through police cruiser window, steals patrol car, and leads cops on wild chase while still in handcuffs

A suspect involved in a hit-and-run accident in Georgia managed to escape police custody after he was arrested, and the wild car chase was caught on video.

According to WSB-TV, Gwinett County Police reported to a hit-and-run accident on Thursday and the suspect, Joshua Jones, escaped in a truck. He reportedly hit several cars during his first escape attempt. When witnesses detained him, police apprehended the suspect.

But while he was in the patrol car, he somehow shimmied his way through the 12×12 inch prisoner window from the backseat of the car and drove away.

Shortly after, he abandoned that car and stole a pickup truck as dozens of police officers were on his tail. He continued on to restaurant and stole yet another pickup truck there.

Eventually, police were able to corner him and forced him to flip his truck on his side. They then took Jones back into custody, and WSB-TV reports he was still in handcuff when they apprehended him a second time.

The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment and remains in custody on multiple charges.
