Authorities found a 9-month-old baby dead inside a Fort Worth, Texas, home on Monday, and are currently investigating the cause.

NBC reports that authorities responded to a call about “an unconscious person” at the 600 block of Woodpecker Lane at a little after 10 p.m. on Monday. When they arrived, they discovered a deceased infant inside a closet. Police reported that the baby was in the closet for several hours before he was discovered.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the infant as John Norris. The office is currently working to figure out the baby’s cause of death. Authorities said the situation was “suspicious.” The Crimes Against Children unit and homicide detectives are currently assisting in the investigation.
