‘Mighty Ducks’ star arrested on drug charges after found dazed and stumbling near film studio lot

A former child star has been arrested on drug possession charges, just a month after he was jailed for burglary.

Global News reports that Shaun Weiss was arrested in Burbank, California, last Wednesday after a resident called police to report a man stumbling near the Warner Bros. studio lot.

Weiss, 38, starred as the goalie Goldberg in the 1992 hockey movie The Mighty Ducks. After he was apprehended, Weiss was arrested on controlled substance possession charges, and police reportedly believe he was carrying methamphetamine.

The actor was also carrying a credit card in someone else’s name, but the person, reportedly a friend, is not pressing charges.

In July, Weiss was arrested and sentenced to 150 days in jail for stealing $151 worth of electronics, but was released early due to overcrowding.

The suspect reportedly struggles with addiction.

“Hopefully, when he gets out, he will go to rehab so he can stay sober,” a spokesperson for the actor’s management company told the Global News.

Weiss is reportedly being held on $10,000 bail, reduced from $20,000.
