Few clues and many questions in Georgia’s Lake Oconee beheading cold case

Investigators have no suspects more than three years after Russell Dermond, 88, was discovered beheaded in his central Georgia retirement home and his 87-year-old wife Shirley was found 5 miles away murdered and floating in a lake. Putnam County, Georgia, Sheriff Howard Sills suspects the Sills were murdered by “a vicious enemy,” but the killer or killers are still unknown and free.

Macon Telegraph reporter Joe Kovac and Cold Case Research Institute Director Sheryl McCollum join Nancy Grace in this Crime Stories episode to examine the mystery of the Lake Oconee murders.
