Elderly brothers live in home ‘littered from floor to ceiling’ with child porn, have been abusing innocents for decades: Police

Seattle police have arrested three elderly brothers after they allegedly found their home littered with child pornography, as reported by KOMO-TV.

Edwin Emery, 78, Thomas Emery, 79, and Charles Emery, 82, were charged with two counts each of possession of depiction of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to FOX 13.

Seattle police Capt. Mike Edwards told reporters that the trio had also allegedly abused a series of female relatives, with the abuse dating back to when they were young boys.

“It’s very clear that these three individuals have an obsession with young female children,” he said, noting that it is unlikely they’d face charges for the abuse, given the state’s statute of limitations for sex crimes.

Police were alerted to their home, where they’ve lived together since 1962, after a family member allegedly came across some of the gruesome pornography while cleaning.

After obtaining a search warrant, investigators found “a home littered from floor to ceiling with child exploitation images, children’s clothing articles, toys and movies,” court documents say. All told, the incendiary materials filled up several trash bags, police note.

Authorities also say they found “graphic written descriptions of extreme harm to children,” and “numerous children’s clothing, including shoes, socks and underwear, all with indications of prior use.”

Based on the graphic nature of the writings, police called in cadaver dogs to search the property for dead bodies. They have not announced if their search turned up anything.

Court documents also say that Charles Emery reportedly worked as a janitor for Seattle Children’s Hospital for decades, between the 1970s and 1990s.

Police have not yet alleged that Charles abused children while working as a janitor but a prosecutor has stated that each brother “has a sexual interest in minor children and have shared the majority of their lives sexually abusing children to whom they had access and exploiting children depicted in child pornography.”

In 2013, Edwin Emery was investigated for possession of child pornography but did not face prosecution, KOMO-TV noted.

As of this writing, the three Emery brothers remain in police custody.
