FBI arrests self-proclaimed social media ‘dominatrix’ for scamming man she met on Twitter

An Atlanta self-proclaimed social media “dominatrix” is under arrest by the FBI for money extortion after she blackmailed a married Detroit man.

A complaint filed Tuesday in federal court stated that a man, only identified as M.S., met Erica Freeman, 25, on Twitter in September 2016. Over the next four months, the two began to send each other sexually explicit photos. In exchange for the images, the man sent about $5,000 worth of payments to Freeman, who also went under the name of “Temptress Nirvana,” reports The Detroit News.

When M.S. cut off communication with the “Temptress,” she threatened to expose him if he didn’t send $10,000. To keep her quiet, he started sending her weekly payments of $250 every Monday.

The relationship continued, and in March, Freeman sent the man a pair of red underwear which he put on his head, took a photo, then sent that photo back to her.

He tried to end the relationship again in April, but she threatened to expose him to his wife if she didn’t send another $15,000.

The man then began to receive an onslaught of messages from Freeman threatening to expose him.

Investigators found multiple Twitter accounts that the dominatrix used to post the picture of the man with the red underwear on his head, screenshots of his company’s website, and screenshots of his wife’s Facebook account. Freeman also created Facebook accounts, using the photo of the red underwear as the profile picture, and began sending friend requests to his friends and family.

In April, she left a voicemail on the wife’s phone, exposing the relationship.

“Your husband has been cheating on you since your honeymoon, and he’s also a pervert.”

Investigators tracked the IP address from the emails to Freeman’s home. Authorities arrested her for extortion Tuesday afternoon, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

FBI Special Agent Christopher Pennisi wrote in the criminal complaint that, in total, Freeman received $10,000 from the man.

“In all, (the man) paid Freeman approximately $10,000. The first $5,000 he did of his own free will. (The man) paid the remaining $5,000 … only because Freeman began threatening to expose their relationship.”

Freeman had her first court appearance Tuesday. She’s currently in the custody of the U.S. Marshals, and is awaiting arraignment in Detroit.
