Missing young woman whose last messages said she was ‘scared’ in a ‘dark room’ found safe

The 20-year-old woman’s family fears she has been kidnapped

UPDATE: Jasmin Cheyenne Brickey found safe and reunited with her family.

Original Story:

The family of a 20-year-old Michigan woman is frantic, believing that the young woman has been kidnapped and is now in great danger.

The New York Post reports that Jasmin Cheyenne Brickey was last seen Sunday night in Grand Rapids.

Since then, her mother, Barbara Brickey, has been desperately posting updates on Facebook, hoping that someone who knows something will contact police.

The precise circumstances of Jasmin’s disappearance are not yet known, but the newspaper reports that she was last seen in torn blue jeans, a white T-shirt, a black hoodie, and black sandals. She is six feet, one inch tall and has brown hair and hazel eyes.

In a chilling Facebook post, Barbara Brickey said that last anyone heard from Jasmin, she seemed to indicate she was being held prisoner somewhere. It is unknown who she said this to, but MLive reports that she sent several messages to friends and family indicating she was in danger.

“The last thing she [got] out was [that] she was in a dark room [that] she thinks is a basement and she is scared,” her mom, Barbara wrote.

Her phone has since been turned off or ran out of battery.

Anyone with information is urged to call Grand Rapids Police at 616-456-3403.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
