Florida police have arrested a cafeteria school worker at a Christian academy and accused her of having sex with a teenage student, as reported by Tampa Bay Times.
Aimee Chevalier, 40, was taken into police custody on August 8 and faces charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and transmission of harmful materials to a minor, jail records show.
In addition to engaging in statutory rape with the unidentified minor, the 40-year-old cafeteria worker at Hernando Christian Academy is alleged to have sent hundreds of illicit text messages to the teen, including nude photos and videos.
These texts allegedly led to a meeting in the kitchen of the school’s cafeteria, where the pair is said to have engaged in multiple sex acts.
Chevalier admitted to the tryst, investigators note. She is also alleged to have told investigators that she knew the boy’s age and that what she did was wrong. However, Chevalier also told police that she had planned to have sex with the boy again at a forthcoming house party, according to New York Post.
“HCA is committed to helping ensure a proper resolution in these matters and doing so in line with the strong values that have shaped the school since its founding in 1981,” the school’s attorney, Matt Foreman, said in a statement.
Interestingly, this isn’t the only sex scandal to hit Hernando Christian Academy in recent months. The school’s former principal, Cathy McAllister, was forced to resign after her husband, Bruce McAllister, was accused of assaulting three teen foreign exchange students who were under his supervision.
As of this writing, Chevalier remains held at the Hernando County Detention Center on $12,000 bail.
