Mom of pregnant teen’s boyfriend charged in connection with her shooting death

The unborn child did not survive

The mother of an 18-year-old man accused of killing his pregnant girlfriend and her unborn baby has been charged in connection with her death.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Colton Perryman, 18 was arrested in Pulaski, Tennessee, earlier this week in connection to the shooting death of his girlfriend, 16-year-old Samantha “Stormy” Carter, and her unborn baby. Social media posts indicate Perryman may have been the father.

Despite lifesavings efforts, both the baby girl and her mother were pronounced dead within a day of the shooting.

WKRN reports that Perryman’s mother, Karla McDonald, has been charged with tampering with evidence. She reportedly turned herself in to police on Wednesday, and has since been released on $500 bond.

Additional details about the exact nature of her involvement are not yet available.

Samantha was reportedly shot and killed on Monday night at the Richmond Inn in Pulaksi. Perryman had been living there with his family after they were displaced by a housefire.

The 16-year-old girl was 22 weeks pregnant at the time. She had previously posted multiple photos of her sonogram images on Facebook, and Facebook posts from her mother indicate that she planned to name her baby girl Scarlet Danielle.

Police have not commented on a possible motive for the double murder.

CrimeOnline will update this developing story as more information becomes available.
