‘That’s the Devil baby’: Woman reportedly stabs 8-DAY-old baby in the eye

A Pennsylvania woman is behind bars after she allegedly stabbed a newborn in the face and accused the infant of being a ‘”devil.”

FOX8 reports that Tanishia Fielder, 32, is accused of stabbed her 8-day-old son in the eye on Friday, after she stabbed the the infant’s father. When authorities arrived to the scene in Swissvale, Fielder reportedly admitted to stabbing the baby, and according to a criminal complaint, she said God told her to do so.

“I stabbed the baby, that’s the Devil baby.”

Authorities found a knife in a trash bin behind the suspect’s apartment building— the knife police said Fielder used to stab both the infant and the baby’s father, Darwin Hanner. According to Hanner, Fielder chased him with the knife after they got into an argument earlier in the day. The suspect gave chase while Hanner had the baby in his arms, and subsequently, Fielder stabbed them both.

“‘It was the Devil’s child.’ That just kept coming out of her mouth,” neighbor Darius Warren told KDKA-TV  “I’m like, ‘Wow, that’s crazy.'”

“When the husband came out, I guess, he was holding the baby, running down, and the baby had blood in his eyes and stuff,” Warren continued. “[The father was] screaming ‘911, call 911,’ so I called 911. Then when I asked the lady what was going on, she kept saying, ‘It’s Satan’s child, it’s Satan’s child’ and all that.”

Authorities rushed the baby to UPMC Children’s Hospital with stab wounds to his right eye. The baby’s medical condition is currently unknown. Hanner was also taken to the hospital, and his condition is also unknown at this time.

Fielder was arrested and taken to the Allegheny County Jail on charges of aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a child
