Comedian and movie star Kevin Hart took to Instagram to issue a frank apology to his wife and children after a woman allegedly made a video of him where it looks like he’s cheating, as reported by Page Six.
The unidentified woman has allegedly tried to extort money from the actor, saying she’ll withhold the video if he pays up, but he refused. The video allegedly shows the pair cozying up at a nightclub, according to TMZ. However, it isn’t quite a sex tape, as the footage becomes murky after the nightclub scene, reports indicate. In the next segment, sources say you can hear people having sexual intercourse but you cannot see them. The third scene, as reported by TMZ, shows people “milling around a room, one of them looks vaguely like Kevin.”
In the apology video, Hart addresses his pregnant wife, Eniko Parrish, and his children, in what TMZ says is an attempt to get out front of a “messy situation.”
The star of Central Intelligence said in the video that he has a “target on my back” and that someone was trying to make “financial gain’’ off his past misbehavior.
“Sending so many apologies to my wife and kids,’’ he said. “I gotta do better and I will. I’m not perfect and I never claimed to be … I love you all.’’
A representative for the actor has confirmed that someone tried to extort money from Hart and that law enforcement are now involved.
“Someone tried to set Kevin up in a failed extortion attempt. As law enforcement is involved, we cannot comment further as it could affect the investigation.”
