Video shows Good Samaritan rescuing 11-year-old girl from alleged kidnapper

A quick-thinking Ohio man is being applauded for thwarting an alleged kidnapping.

FOX 19 reports that surveillance video captured the suspect, later identified as Jessie Woodard Jr. (pictured right), pulling an 11-year-old girl by the arm down a road in Golf Manor on Saturday. That’s when Nazier Elahee (pictured left) said he noticed something that prompted him to take action.

“As they walked passed us she looked back at me and mouthed the words ‘Help me’ several times,” he told the local station.

Elahee claimed he took the girl from Woodard, 37, and asked her if she knew the suspect, to which she responded no.

“I asked the gentleman if he knew her and he said ‘no I’m taking her home,'” he said.

From there, Elahee called the police. At one point, Woodard can be seen trying to flee the scene but the Good Samaritan chased him into a nearby market until officers arrived, WXIX also reported.

Footage appears to show the attempted kidnapping unfolding near a police station.

“If he had gotten that little girl to where ever he was going to she could have been raped…killed,” he said.

“If I could have done something else I would have, but the right thing to do was to call the police and keep the girl safe.”
