Las Vegas shooting LIVE updates: Death toll goes up, AP denies ISIS claims on mass shooting attack

At least 50 were killed and more than 200 injured after a gunman opened fire from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Hotel on the Las Vegas strip Sunday night.

Monday 12:15 p.m.

The Associated Press reports that the death toll in the Las Vegas mass shooting has risen to 58, with up to 515 injured. AP has reports that the FBI has confirmed the suspected gunman Stephen Paddock has no connection to any international terrorist group. The news service had previously reported that ISIS had made an unverified claim on the attack, which now appears to be unfounded.

Monday 10:56 a.m.

President Trump addressed the deadly shooting in a statement from the White House, saying that flags will be kept at half-mast in honor of the victims, and that he will be visiting Las Vegas on Wednesday.

“It was an act of pure evil,” the president said.

ISIS has been an unverified claim that the terrorist group is responsible for the deadly attack, claiming that the gunman had converted to Islam.

CBS News has obtained audio footage of police officers just before they breached the suspect’s hotel room.

Fox News has reported some additional details about the shooter. He reportedly checked into the hotel on September 28.

Good Morning America has obtained footage of the exterior of the suspected gunman’s hotel room at the Mandalay Bay.

Las Vegas sheriff said in a news conference that Marilou Danley, a woman connected to the shooter, has been located outside of the country. Authorities do not believe she played a role in the mass shooting.

NBC News reports that an off-duty police officer has been killed in the mass shooting.

The suspected gunman, Stephen Paddock, is believed to have taken his own life in a 32nd-floor hotel room at the Mandalay Bay. According to a press release from the Las Vegas Metropolitan police department, Paddock was dead when officers breached the hotel room.
