WATCH: Woman gets in all-out brawl with officer after she reportedly threatens to torch store down

When an alleged shoplifter got locked inside a Philadelphia convenience store, a brawl ensued when a responding police officer tried to detain her.

Philly Voice reports that in a viral video posted on Facebook on Tuesday, two women accused of destroying items made an attempt to leave a Philadelphia 7-Eleven store off of the 5000 block of Frankford Avenue, when several men inside the store stood by the door, blocking the suspects’ exit while waiting for police to arrive.

At one point, one of the suspects attacked one of the men blocking the door, then appeared to spray him with pepper spray.

When an officer with the Philadelphia PD arrived, he tried to diffuse the situation, but one of the suspects attacked him, resulting in a squabble that ended with the suspect on the ground, in a headlock. Regardless, she still attempted to fight the officer by wrapping her legs around his neck, but he eventually subdued her enough to cuff her.

Police later identified the suspects as police identified Lashae Whitaker, 20, and Tierra Brown, 28. According to the police report, the incident started when a store clerk recognized the pair from a prior altercation and asked them to leave. That’s when they allegedly “became irate and started knocking merchandise onto the ground,” then started kicking and punching the store clerk.

The woman in the video squabbling with the officer was identified as Whitaker.

Both suspects were charged with aggravated assault, possession of an instrument of a crime, causing or risking a catastrophe, and terroristic threats. The suspects are scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 17 for a preliminary hearing.
