3 children die in horrific horse-drawn buggy crash

Six others are hospitalized with life-threatening injuries

Three children were killed and several others injured in a horse-drawn buggy accident in central Michigan on Sunday.

Fox 17 reports that a pickup truck slammed into a horse-drawn carriage at around 8:30 Sunday morning in Sheridan. There were nine people inside the buggy at the time of the crash, and three children were killed while other passengers fight for their lives.

The names of the victims have not yet been released, but police told the news station they were two girls, ages 7 and 9, and a 12-year-old boy. Six other passengers are reportedly in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.

According to the report, police do not think alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash. The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt, and is reportedly cooperating with police.

The horse survived the accident. This is a developing story and CrimeOnline will provide updates when there is more information.
