WATCH: Citibank manager busted by ‘pedophile hunters’ trying to meet little girl for sex

A Citibank business manager is behind bars after a group of “pedophile hunters” tracked him down when he tried to meet what he thought was a 14-year-old girl for sex.

A Facebook group, known as the Internet Interceptors, apparently posed as a 14-year-old while Citibank manager, Balachandran Kavungalparambath, allegedly took the bait. The bank manager sent numerous explicit messages to who he thought was a 14-year-old girl, before driving over 100 miles to a motel in Birmingham, England.

When Kavungalparambath arrived at the hotel, he was greeted by members of the Internet Interceptors group, who cornered and confronted him while recording the incident. The suspect, alarmed, tried to explain that he thought he was meeting the girl “for a chat.”

“She told me…whoever the person was that spoke to me spoke to me that she had a desire and she wanted to have sex, but that was not my intention and I had chatted with her,” the married man said. “I was supposed to have a chat with her, it was not with the intention of getting her into a bed and having sex with her. That was not my intention.”

The group confronted him about the explicit messages sent, which reportedly strongly insinuated that he wanted to have sex with the girl, despite her young age. Kavungalparambath put his hands over his face and started crying, eventually admitting he indeed planned on having sex with a teen. He then opened his bag and took out condoms and perfume.

Authorities arrested Kavungalparambath and charged him with “attempting to arrange or facilitate the commission of child sex abuse.” On Monday, the Birmingham Crown Court sentenced Kavungalparambath to 15 months in jail.
