BIZARRE: After arresting suspect in Kelsie Schelling’s murder, cops pick up his mother for robbery and assault

Just hours after Colorado police arrested Donthe Lucas for the 2013 murder of a pregnant Kelsie Schelling, his mother was also accused on suspicion of committing a major crime, as reported by KMGH.

Sara Lucas, 49, was arrested for robbery and assault in November for an incident that is alleged to have occurred on September 1.

Both of her sons, Donthe Lucas, 25, and Dushon Lucas, 19, were also arrested and accused of participating in the same set of crimes. Authorities have not revealed the nature of the assault, but they have stated that a handgun was found at the scene, according to another report by KMGH.

Investigators have noted that the alleged crimes actually occurred in front of the Lucas family home, an address Pueblo police have become intimately familiar with, thanks to several related incidents throughout the years.

As previously reported by CrimeOnline, Sara Lucas’ son, Donte, has been charged in the disappearance and presumed murder of Schelling, 21-year-old, who disappeared in February 2013.

Police have yet to locate her remains but authorities are treating her disappearance as a presumed homicide.

“I think there is hope that we will find the body in the coming days, weeks or months,” said Dan Corsentino, a former Pueblo County sheriff, whom Kelsie’s family hired to help find the woman.

Sara Lucas was booked into the Pueblo County Detention Center and is being held there on a no bond warrant. Donthe Lucas is also being held without bond.
