BREAKING: Three dead, including two students, at school shooting in New Mexico

Over a dozen more are injured

Two students are dead after a gunman opened fire at a school in New Mexico.

CNN reports that an unidentified shooter fatally shot two students at Aztec High School in Aztec on Thursday morning. The suspected shooter is also dead, but it is unclear how they were killed, or whether they were a student at the high school.

According to Fox News, over a dozen more people were injured in the shooting.

Local police said there is no longer any threat to the community. Aztec is about three hours northwest of Albuquerque, near the Navajo Nation.

“It’s tragic when our children are harmed in violent ways especially on school campuses. We express our condolences to those families who have been harmed,” Navajo Nation President Russell Begaye said in a press release.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
