Convict child killer says she ‘loved’ the two children she stabbed 100 TIMES as they prayed and begged for their lives

An Illinois woman who stabbed her 7-year-old son and a 5-year-old girl she was babysitting after taking them to church learned her fate on Friday.

The Daily Herald reported that Elzbieta Plackowska, 45, was sentenced to natural life in prison for the barbaric murders of her son, Justin, and Olivia Dworakowski, a child she was babysitting the night of October 30, 2012. Plackowska stabbed her son 173 times and stabbed Dworakowski 93 times.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Plackowska admitted to taking the children to church the night of the slayings. Upon arriving at the girl’s home, Plackowska directed the children to get on their knees and pray before stabbing them–all while they begged for their lives.

“Natural life, even if not the required sentence, is the only sentence that can even remotely equate to what [she] did to those two children,” DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin said following Friday’s hearing.

“I’ve seen a lot of violent things in my 30-plus years as a prosecutor, but I’d be hard-pressed to find another case equally as violent as this one.”

Officers found Justin and Olivia’s bodies in the master bedroom next to Plackowska’s family dog, Tootsie, and the little girl’s dog, Nicki–who she also fatally stabbed that night.

Plackowska was convicted in September of 10 counts of first-degree murder and two counts of animal cruelty. The Herald noted that she’s been held without bail since her arrest on October 31, 2012.

Defense attorneys argued that their client’s mental health declined in 2012 after her father died in Poland. They also unsuccessfully argued that Elzbieta suffered from bipolar disorder and was experiencing a psychotic episode during the murders.

“I wanted help. I just didn’t know how to get it,” the Naperville mother told the court, according to the Chicago Tribune.

DuPage County Judge Robert Miller ultimately determined that the 45-year-old knew what she was doing when she killed the two children.

Judge Miller also tacked two years onto her life sentence for the dogs’ slayings.

Plackowska asked for forgiveness and claimed that, five years later, she still didn’t understand how she killed two children in cold blood.

“But I know for sure I love those children very much,” she continued.

“They are my whole life, my world, my everything.”
