Man kills girlfriend and her daughter because 11-year-old girl ‘had a bad attitude’: Investigators

A Florida man is back in jail after police say he murdered two members of the family he moved in with following the completion of a recent prison sentence.

According to the New York Post, 26-year-old Marlin Larice Joseph allegedly killed 36-year-old Kaladaa Crowell and her 11-year-old daughter, Kyra Inglett, sparing other children who resided in the West Palm Beach home.

Reports indicate he moved in with the family after his release following a 10-month sentence for battery of a child.

Investigators believe Joseph argued with Crowell about the girl’s behavior just before he shot and killed both victims.

He allegedly fled the scene in Crowell’s car Thursday evening.

The Palm Beach Post cited a police report claiming that Joseph told police Inglett “had a bad attitude” leading up to the murder authorities say he committed.

When police responded to the scene, they found the fifth-grader clinging to life. She died a short time later at an area hospital and her mother was pronounced dead at the scene.

Joseph evaded police for several days and was arrested Tuesday at an apartment complex in Lake Worth by U.S. marshals.

The suspect’s mother called the victim “the sweetest person,” explaining that while she loves her son, she is devastated over the deaths he is accused of causing.

“She was my girlfriend and that was our home,” Robin Denson said of Crowell.

Reports indicate Joseph was taken into custody without bond after a court appearance Wednesday. He is expected to be charged with two counts of first-degree murder.
