Charter school teacher sexually assaults boy student for TWO years: Police

A charter school teacher in Miami, Florida, is facing criminal charges for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a student since he was 15 years old.

The student, now 17, reportedly told police that he was in a “consensual” two-year relationship with Miami Arts Charter School teacher. Valeria Ashley Costadoni, 30. The omission led to the language teacher’s arrest on Monday, according to the Miami Herald.

An arrest report obtained by the newspaper indicated that law enforcement became aware of the situation in October. The student told officers that he and Costadoni had sex in her home four times and, on numerous occasions, at the school and in her car, the Herald wrote.

According to the school’s website, Costadoni is the language arts department chair at the charter school’s Wynwood campus. The 30-year-old was born in Paraguay and moved to Miami in the early 90s, the website said.

The educator has worked for the Miami school for seven years but it’s unclear whether she’s been terminated since her arrest. The Herald noted, however, that her profile had been scrubbed from the website as of Monday afternoon.

Costadoni is charged with lewd and lascivious battery on a child younger than 16 and having sex with a minor. WTVJ reported that she is being held on $15,000 bond.
