SEE IT: Angry audience member viciously attacks comedian during set

Video captured the tense moments when an audience member hurled a mic stand and stool at comedian Steve Brown as he performed on stage.

According to The State, the incident occurred Sunday night at the Comedy House in Columbia, South Carolina. Tumika LaSha, who recorded the scuffle, says she was watching Brown’s set when her table was flipped over and food went flying.

LaSha told the newspaper that Brown spotted a man who didn’t appear to be enjoying himself. When Brown asked the man what was wrong, the man instructed him to go on to someone else, she said.

The video apparently picks up after Brown asked the audience member why he came to a comedy show if he didn’t want to laugh. LaSha claimed that the man charged at Brown before things went completely south.

The footage, which can be viewed below, shows the man throwing various items at the standup as he attempts to dodge them. The assault goes on for about a minute until bystanders rush the stage and run the man out of the room.

The ordeal doesn’t end there, however, as the man–now shirtless–remerges and attempts to make his way back on the stage.

TMZ reported that cops said the suspect’s first name is Marvin and that he had consumed alcohol on Sunday night. They also claimed that Marvin did $400 in damage and that, aside from Brown, four people in the comedy club were injured that night and they intend to press charges.

One of those injured was a security guard who Marvin punched in the face before driving off, according to the tabloid.

“This unprovoked attacked (sic) that happened to me tonight is a reminder of why these comedy clubs should have well equipped PROFESSIONAL security to protect us entertainers who bring their club so much money,” the comedian wrote on Instagram shortly after the incident.

“I thank God for looking out for me and giving my old a** the ability to bob and weave because this could have ended in [a] horrible way.”

The comedian also took to Instagram to show the cut he sustained from the flying mic stand.
