SEE IT: Caretaker repeatedly slaps ailing elder with dementia, tells her ‘You stink’

A video captured the tense moments when a caretaker slapped and berated a dementia patient before the elder’s daughter intervened and confronted her.

Per the Daily Mail, the footage shows caretaker Stacey George, 46, abusing Sabina Marsden, 78, in the elder’s Kettering, England, home on June 13, 2017. She was also filmed telling Mardsen “God you stink” and snatching a blanket from the helpless elder.

Meanwhile, Mardsen’s daughter, Gina Owen, 46, remotely watched the entire ordeal unfold in disbelief.

“Within ten minutes of my sister Mandy leaving the house I was watching it on my phone and she slapped my mum four or five times,” Owen told The Sun, adding that her mother is also diabetic and partially blind.

“We only put the camera in because we thought she was being lazy. I didn’t expect to see that, I was shocked. I felt sick.”

Near the end of the video, Owen is seen running to her mother’s rescue. Owen recalled to the U.K. paper that she calmly fired George and told her it was because she caught her on camera slapping her mother.

When presented with the damning evidence, the caretaker said, “I didn’t mean to upset you. I’m sorry,” according to the Daily Mail.

Despite going to the police with the video, Owen claimed that George got off with a warning.

The caretaker’s former employer, Mega Care, said they are “appalled and disgusted” by their ex-employee’s conduct. Chief operating officer Winner Lawal said in a statement that George was Mardsen’s sole caretaker.

“Of the 22 months that we cared for Sabina, this same staff member provided more than 96 percent of the total visits. Sabina was the only service user cared for by this [member of] staff,” he said. “There was no prior indication that this staff member was capable of these heinous acts.”

Since the ordeal, Owen says her mother is now talking and sleeping better.

She told the Mail, “I think there’s probably more people out there that this is happening to and they’re either too scared to come forward or they haven’t got the evidence.”
