Trio accused of torturing, mutilating mother found dead in trunk of burning car

Three people have been arrested for reportedly torturing, murdering, and mutilating a Michigan mother whose body was found in the trunk of a burning car last month.

Per WJBK, the Detroit Police Department announced that Alyssa Dickson, 21, Felicia Bowles, 37, and Damiso Marble, 30, have been arrested in connection with the death of Angela Neilson, 28. Not confirmed by police, the family claimed that Neilson was the woman found dead on January 29 inside a burning 1997 Toyota Tercel in southwest Detroit.

Dwayne Gabbard, who has two young daughters with Neilson, said the mother had battled an addiction to pills and heroin for the last year and a half. He claimed he learned that Neilson’s picture was on Backpage.com and that she was seen walking the streets of southwest Detroit.

“She’s a mother, a daughter, a sister, she’s a grandkid,” Gabbard told the station.”That’s torture; that’s just not something you do to a human. What could she have done to make somebody do that?”

“Drugs got the best of her, it did. It’s bad out there. It’s bad.”

Dental records are reportedly being used to confirm the victim’s identity. A fire official close to the case told The Detroit News that the body was “burned beyond recognition.” Additionally, police would only say that the victim is a 28-year-old white female.

Despite this, Dickson, Bowles, and Marble are all charged with felony murder, torture, unlawful imprisonment, and disinterment or mutilation of a body. Marble and Bowles are also charged with assault with intent to commit murder.

Dickinson and Bowles’ cases are being tried together. They are all being held without bond.
