Stoneman Douglas High School teachers, staff greeted by rainbow in the sky as they return to school

As teachers and staff members returned to work for the first after the February 17 massacre at Stoneman Douglas High School, a clear rainbow peeked out of the sky, greeting them.

People reports that people began posting photos of the rainbow online on early Monday morning resumed for teachers and staff the first day since alleged gunman, Nikolas Cruz, 19, shot and killed 17 people on Valentine’s Day.

The teachers will spend Monday and Tuesday getting everything prepared for students to return to school on Wednesday. Administrators held an optional “back to school” session on Sunday to assist students and parents. Several students who attended said that the orientation helped them cope as they prepare to return to school, according to NBC.

In the meantime, numerous photos of the rainbow that shined down on the school continue to surface across social media.
