Police probe unexplained death of star Northwestern student

A junior at Northwestern University died on Sunday of unexplained causes and police are investigating her death.

The Daily Northwestern reports that Kenzie Krogh, 20, died Sunday morning at Saint Francis Hospital, where her friends brought her on Saturday when she reportedly said she wasn’t feeling well.

Krogh was a junior at the School of Education and Social Policy. Evanston Police are reporting investigating Krogh’s activities and whereabouts on the day before she was taken to the hospital. Evanston Police Cmdr. Ryan Glew told the Daily Northwestern that police do not suspect foul play at this time.

According to the Chicago Tribune, a statement from Krogh’s family described her as an “exceptional” student and young woman with a deep interest in social justice in addition to her dedication to her schooling.

Those she left behind “were greatly anticipating the gifts she would bring to us and whatever parts of the world she touched,” the statement read.

The cause of death is pending a medical examination and toxicology tests.

CrimeOnline will update this story when more information is available.
