Mom who mysteriously vanished from front lawn with her kids inside home is found dead, buried in leaves

A Virginia mother of two who mysteriously vanished from her front yard earlier this month was found dead on Thursday, covered in leaves not far from her Wake home.

FOX News reports that on February 27, TerriLynn St. John walked to her car in front yard at around 7:30 a.m. while her children were inside the family home. As she prepared the car to take her kids, ages 3 and 1, to daycare, she disappeared. For two days, a frantic search ensued for St. John, which ended early Thursday morning when Middlesex deputies found her deceased body around a mile away from her home.

Authorities detained Alvin B. Keyser, 23, after they became alerted to an incriminating social media post he made. Keyser, who was acquaintances with St. John, allegedly led police to her body, located off of a rural road in Pine Top. So far, the suspect is cooperating, according to Major Michael Sampson of the Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office

Prior to finding St. John, police determined a struggle took place by her car, CBS reports.

“They looked through the woods and you could definitely tell there has been a struggle beside my daughter’s car,” the victim’s father, Terry St. John, said. “Jewelry was all around, like it had been broken off, her cellphone was found in the bushes.”

The motive still remains unclear and authorities haven’t yet said how St. John died. They did, however, indicate that foul play was involved. Keyser is being held in relation to the homicide, but charges are still pending.

The story is still developing. Check back with CrimeOnline as additional details become available.
