UPDATE: Multiple fatalities in helicopter crash in New York City’s East River

A helicopter has reportedly crashed in the East River in New York City, just near uptown Manhattan.
The helicopter, believed to be carrying several passengers, reportedly crashed at around 7 p.m. on Sunday night, according to a Newsday reporter who spoke to an FDNY spokesperson.
"I am highly confident there is a helicopter in the East River," FDNY spokesman says while responding to call about possible crash. 911 call came in at 7:09 pm. No other info confirmed yet. Stay tuned.

According to multiple eyewitness-based social media accounts, there have been people seen in the water near the helicopter, which reportedly went down near E. 89th and E. 90th street on the Upper East Side.
Rescue workers have reportedly responded to the crash.
