An Indiana couple is facing child molestation and incest charges for allegedly having sex with their three children since 2012.

WISH reported that police became aware of the disturbing situation after a woman claimed the two oldest children, a 19-year-old man and his 17-year-old sister, alerted her to “possible sexual abuse.” Court documents stated that the eldest child told officers that his father, Keylin Johnson, 52, told him that “incest was a normal way of life” and “the best way to build a family bond was to have sex with your parents, particularly your mother.”

“He [the father] also advised it was safer to have sex with people in your own family, rather than strangers,” documents reportedly said.

An affidavit said the two siblings claimed that the abuse began in 2012 after Keylin moved in with the family. The siblings said they were coming forward because they were concerned for their 13-year-old sister that was still living at the home, according to the Journal Review.

The siblings said they lived in Waveland when the abuse started and it became more frequent when they moved to Mooresville.

In addition to incest, the mother, Sheila Johnson, 42, is accused of committing sex acts on the family dog. Keylin allegedly filmed some of the abuse involving the children and dog. Investigators located sexually-explicit images of the 13-year-old on a phone belonging to Keylin, the newspaper reported.

Department of Child Services has since taken custody of the 13-year-old girl. According to court documents, the girl told authorities that “both of her parents would do gross things in the home.”

“She was shown sexual videos and pornography and that her aunt used to bring adult things to a residence in Mooresville and she observed the adults would do sexual things,” it was also alleged.

WISH reported that Keylin admitted to being addicted to porn and said he possibly downloaded an image of his nude children from that child’s cellphone. Sheila reportedly confessed to numerous instances of child abuse and incest involving her two children in addition to an incident where she attempted to have sex with her dog.

Keylin is charged with multiple counts of child molestation and incest and one count of possession of child pornography. Sheila is charged with multiple counts of child molestation and incest and one count of bestiality. They both remain jailed.

Trials for Keylin and Sheila are scheduled for August 14 and July 31, respectively.
