Missing actress’ boyfriend kills himself as cops close in weeks after her disappearance: Reports

Authorities in California say a man fatally shot himself in the head as police attempted to question him regarding a woman’s disappearance.

As Fox News reports, 33-year-old Chris Spotz had been identified as a romantic partner of 25-year-old aspiring actress Adea Shabani, who was last seen at her apartment in Hollywood last month.

The two reportedly met in acting school and had been linked since.

Police were informed that the stolen truck Spotz was driving Thursday had been used in a homicide, though there were no additional details available regarding that report, according to KNBC.

After officers located the vehicle, a short pursuit ended when the driver shot himself in the head.

Police reportedly used spike strips on the roadway in an attempt to stop the Toyota Tacoma Spotz was driving, but he was able to continue to an exit on the Riverside Freeway where he pulled over, shot himself and died at the scene.

At one point during the chase, Spotz reportedly stopped the vehicle briefly to allow a passenger to exit.

As for Shabani’s disappearance, investigators have indicated that they believe she was killed somewhere between Sacramento and Hollywood.

A search for her body continues as friends and loved ones plead for answers.

After Shabani stopped answering calls and went silent on social media, friend Emma Joe expressed her fear.

“This is not her,” she said. “This is not her. Something is going on with her, we don’t know where she is. It’s just so sad, we’re just hoping she’s alive.”

Her mother has moved to the U.S. from Macedonia and obtained the services of a private investigator in her quest to find out what happened to Shabani.
