Mother accused of murdering two children found dead in carseats lost her husband just after daughter’s birth: Reports

The woman accused of killing her two young children lost her husband just two weeks after her daughter was born, according to social media posts and a GoFundMe page.

As CrimeOnline previously reported, Brittany Velasquez, 20, was arrested after authorities found her two-year-old son and 10-month-old daughter dead in a vehicle in a driveway on Monday night, strapped to their car seats. The cause of death is not yet known but investigators reportedly found evidence of foul play.

Police have not identified the victims, but a Facebook page appearing to belong to Brittany Velasquez includes several posts and images about her young son and daughter. It also indicates that her husband died near the time her daughter was born.

A GoFundMe page created by someone identifying as Brittany Ann Velasquez asks for financial support after the death of her husband.

“On June 16, 2017 , my husband Christopher Mathew Miranda was called to heaven,” the campaign page reads.

“He left behind his wife, an 8 year old daughter, 1 1/2 year old son and a 2 week old baby girl.. He was loved by many and this is very devastating to us all. Please any donations will be appreciated by his family and children. He will be dearly missed.”

The campaign raised only a small portion of its $5,000 goal.

The suspect’s relatives reportedly told local news station Fox 10 that they believed Velasquez was mentally unstable and had repeatedly contacted child services out of concern for her children.

A Fox 10 reporter shared a photo of the children on Twitter.

Authorities are expected to reveal more information about the suspected double murder later Tuesday in a press conference.
