Sister arrested after giving birth to brother’s baby, born with numerous health issues: Police

A Florida woman is facing incest charges after police say she carried out a “romantic relationship” with the brother, even giving birth to his child.

The Daily Commercial reports that Pauline Elizabeth Martin, 33, of Groveland, gave birth to a son on November 21, who was born with numerous health issues. Physicians transferred the baby to Winnie Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando for further testing and medical treatment. Testing later revealed that the baby’s birth parents were closely related, prompting involvement of the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF).

When deputies questioned Martin, she reportedly admitted that she was involved romantically with her brother and had moved to Florida three years ago to be with him. DCF records obtained by authorities allegedly indicate that neither Martin or her brother filled out Medicaid paperwork for the baby until February 26, after case workers met with them and urged them to do so.

“She said she was going to end her relationship with her brother because she knows it is wrong,” the police report read.

Authorities obtained a warrant and arrested Martin for both incest and resisting without violence. She later bailed out on $3,000. Authorities are looking for the brother for questioning, but so far have yet to locate him.

The story is still developing. Check back with CrimeOnline as additional details become available.
